Our highly anticipated magnesium butter was developed by our founder initially with the hope of soothing the (extremely frustrating) symptoms of restless legs. Most of us today have low levels of magnesium with some of the main causes being; lack of magnesium-rich foods in our diet, processed foods, environmental toxins, certain medications and high levels of stress (just to name a few). Transdermal magnesium or ‘topical’ magnesium has - through a growing number of trials and studies - proven to be more effective than oral supplements such as tablets and capsules in delivering magnesium to the body. By applying topically, the magnesium enters the body quickly, bypassing the digestive system where many nutrients are poorly absorbed. Topical magnesium is also an excellent method of increasing magnesium levels in children and fussy eaters.

A grape-sized amount provides the recommended daily dose of magnesium the body needs for adults and children over 9 years old. For younger children, a pea sized amount is sufficient, and we recommend massaging this into the soles of their feet. Magnesium can sometimes provide a gentle tingling sensation in the first application, which is why we recommend the soles of the feet where the skin is less sensitive for younger children.
